The Conscious College
Terms of Service
Last updated: October 15, 2026
The short version
Coaching is not therapy.
- I'm a coach, not a therapist. I'm not a licensed psychologist, counselor, social worker, doctor, dietitian, or financial advisor, and nothing here diagnoses or treats any condition.
- Quizzes are for reflection. Your results are a starting point for conversation, not a diagnosis or a label.
- Your choices are yours. You decide what to do with what you learn here, and you're responsible for those decisions.
- Get licensed help when you need it. If you're struggling with your mental health or with daily functioning (sleeping, eating, getting to class or work, taking care of yourself), please reach out to a licensed professional. Coaching can work alongside that care.
- In a crisis, call or text 988 or call 911. Coaching is not a crisis service.
- You must be 18 or older, or have a parent or guardian purchase and agree to these Terms for you.
This summary is for convenience. The full Terms below are the agreement.
1. Agreement to these Terms
These Terms of Service (the "Terms") are a binding agreement between you and Lauren Davenport LLC, a New York limited liability company doing business as The Conscious College ("The Conscious College," "we," "us," or "our"). They apply to our website at the-conscious-college.com; every quiz, form, email, and free resource we offer; and every paid offer, including the Rewrite Session, The Missing Class and its electives, Year of You, and any future program (together, the "Services").
You accept these Terms when you check the box at checkout, submit a form, or use any part of the Services. If you don't agree, please don't use the Services.
2. Who we are
The Conscious College is a coaching and education business founded by Lauren Davenport. We teach self-awareness, emotional intelligence, and practical life skills to college students and women in their twenties. Questions about these Terms can go to [email protected] or 85 Oxford Street, Rochester, NY 14685.
3. Coaching and education only. Not therapy, counseling, or professional advice.
3.1 What we are. The Services are coaching and education. Coaching is a partnership focused on your goals, choices, habits, and next steps. It is forward-looking and action-oriented.
3.2 What we are not. Lauren Davenport is not a licensed psychologist, psychotherapist, licensed mental health counselor, licensed clinical social worker, psychiatrist, physician, nurse, dietitian, attorney, accountant, or financial advisor, and does not hold herself out as one. Nothing in the Services is, or is meant to replace: psychotherapy, counseling, or any other mental health treatment; the diagnosis or treatment of any mental, emotional, behavioral, substance-use, or eating-related condition; medical, nutritional, or psychiatric care; or legal, financial, tax, or investment advice. No therapist-client, doctor-patient, or other licensed professional relationship is formed by using the Services.
3.3 Quizzes and assessments. Our quizzes, including the Pop Quiz, the Rewrite Session prep quiz, and any attachment-style, stress-response, tendency, or self-perception results, are self-reflection tools for education and conversation. They are not psychological tests, are not scientifically validated diagnostic instruments, and do not diagnose any condition.
3.4 Sensitive topics. Some content, including electives on body image, drinking, relationships, and money, covers sensitive subjects. It is offered for general education and personal reflection, does not encourage any unlawful activity (including underage drinking), and is not a substitute for professional help.
3.5 When to get professional help. If you are experiencing a mental health condition, trauma, an eating disorder, substance-use concerns, thoughts of harming yourself or others, or difficulty with daily functioning (such as sleeping, eating, attending class or work, or caring for yourself), please seek care from a licensed professional. You may use the Services alongside professional care, and we encourage you to tell your provider you're working with a coach.
3.6 In an emergency. The Services are not a crisis service and are not monitored around the clock. If you are in crisis or thinking about harming yourself, call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) or call 911 right away.
3.7 We may refer you out. If we believe your needs are beyond the scope of coaching, we may pause or end the Services and recommend that you seek licensed care. Refunds in that case are covered in Section 6.
3.8 Your choices are yours. You are solely responsible for your decisions, actions, and results, including anything you choose to do based on a session, course, quiz, or resource.
4. Eligibility and buying for someone else
4.1 Age. You must be at least 18 years old to buy or join the Services on your own.
4.2 Participants under 18. A participant under 18 may join only if a parent or legal guardian buys the Service and agrees to these Terms on the participant's behalf. That parent or guardian is responsible for payment and for the participant following these Terms. We may ask for proof of age or consent, and we may decline or end participation if we cannot confirm it.
4.3 Buying for someone else. If you buy a Service for someone else (for example, a parent buying for a daughter), you are the "Purchaser" and she is the "Participant." The Purchaser agrees to these Terms and is responsible for payment. The Participant must also agree to these Terms before taking part.
4.4 Privacy between Purchaser and Participant. Paying for a Service does not give the Purchaser access to the Participant's sessions, answers, quiz results, or anything she shares with us. We will share that information with a Purchaser only with the Participant's written permission, or as described in Section 9.3.
4.5 Accurate information. You agree to give us accurate, current information, and to keep your login details private.
5. The Services
5.1 What's included. What each Service includes, including length, number of live sessions, access period, and bonuses, is described on its sales page or checkout page at the time you buy. That description is part of these Terms.
5.2 1:1 sessions (including the Rewrite Session).
- You book your session through our online calendar after you pay. Sessions are held by video unless we agree otherwise.
- Rescheduling: you may reschedule with at least 8 hours' notice.
- Late arrival: if you're late, the session still ends at its scheduled time.
- No-shows: if you don't attend and haven't given notice, the session is forfeited and not refunded.
- Unbooked sessions: a session not booked within 90 days of purchase expires.
- If we need to reschedule, we'll give you as much notice as we can and offer a new time.
5.3 Group programs and courses (including The Missing Class and Year of You).
- Live sessions happen on the schedule we publish. We may change dates or times with reasonable notice.
- Missed live sessions are not refunded or made up individually, but session recordings are posted to your program portal.
- Course access lasts for the period stated at purchase. "Lifetime access" means for as long as we offer the course and keep the platform running.
- Bonuses (for example, a founding-semester Rewrite Session) have no cash value and must be used within the stated period.
5.4 Changes to the Services. We may update, improve, or replace content, schedules, platforms, and tools. If we materially reduce a paid Service you've already bought, we'll offer a fair alternative or a prorated refund.
6. Payments, payment plans, and refunds
6.1 Prices. Prices are listed in U.S. dollars on each checkout page and are due at purchase unless you choose a payment plan. Payments are processed by our checkout provider. We do not store full card numbers.
6.2 Payment plans are a commitment to the full price. If you choose a payment plan (for example, 4 payments of $300 or 12 monthly payments of $400), you are buying the full program and agree to pay every installment, even if you stop attending, stop using the materials, or change your mind. You authorize us to charge your payment method on each scheduled date until the plan is paid in full. Payment plans are a fixed number of payments and do not renew automatically.
6.3 Missed payments. If a payment fails, we'll let you know and try again. If a payment is more than 7 days late, we may pause your access until your account is current. Unpaid balances remain owed.
6.4 Refunds. Because our Services include live time, reserved spots, and immediate access to materials, refunds are limited to what's below. Anything not listed is non-refundable.
| Service | Full refund if | No refund |
|---|---|---|
| Rewrite Session | You cancel before booking, or at least 24 hours before your session | Within 24 hours of the session, after the session, or a no-show |
| The Missing Class (semester) | You cancel at least 7 days before the semester's first live class | Less than 7 days before the first live class, or any time after |
| Electives (bought separately) | Not refundable | Purchase |
| Year of You (group or 1:1) | Not refundable, except in extreme circumstances approved by Lauren in writing. Requests require proof that you attended and completed the work for at least 6 months. | Purchase (all other cases). Payment-plan balances remain due. |
| Retreat (if included) | See the retreat terms provided at booking |
6.5 If we refer you out or end the Services. If we end your Services under Section 3.7 (referral to licensed care) for reasons unrelated to a breach of these Terms, we'll refund the unused portion on a prorated basis. If we end your Services because you broke these Terms, no refund is owed and any payment-plan balance remains due.
6.6 How to request a refund. Email [email protected] with your name, the Service, and the date you bought it. Approved refunds go back to your original payment method.
6.7 Chargebacks. Please contact us before disputing a charge with your bank, because most issues can be fixed quickly. If you file a chargeback for a Service you received or agreed to under these Terms, we may suspend your access and provide these Terms and your purchase records to the payment processor.
7. Your responsibilities
You agree to take part honestly and voluntarily and make your own decisions; tell us if you are in crisis or need more support than coaching can give (see Section 3); treat Lauren and other participants with respect; and not use the Services for anything unlawful, harmful, or harassing.
8. Group sessions, community, and recordings
8.1 Group confidentiality. What other participants share in group sessions or community spaces is theirs. You agree not to record, screenshot, repost, or share another participant's name, image, or personal stories outside the group. We ask everyone to honor this, but we cannot guarantee that other participants will.
8.2 Recordings. Participants may not record any session (audio, video, screen recording, or screenshots) by any means. Lauren records sessions and posts the recordings to your program portal, where only members of that program can view them. By attending, you consent to being recorded. If you'd rather not appear, you may keep your camera off, use a first name only, or send questions privately. Recordings may not be downloaded, shared, or posted outside the portal.
8.3 Removal. We may remove anyone from a session, community, or program, without a refund, for harassment, discrimination, sharing others' private information, disruptive behavior, or other violations of these Terms.
9. Confidentiality and your information
9.1 What we keep private. We treat what you share in sessions, quiz answers, and prep forms as confidential. We use it only to provide and improve your coaching. We do not sell your personal information.
9.2 Coaching confidentiality is not legal privilege. Unlike communications with a licensed therapist or attorney, coaching conversations are not legally privileged. They could be disclosed if a court or law requires it.
9.3 When we may share information without your permission. We may share information if we believe there is a serious and imminent risk of harm to you or someone else (for example, contacting emergency services); if we're required to by law, subpoena, or court order; or if it's needed to protect our legal rights, such as in a payment dispute.
9.4 Privacy. We collect only what we need to provide the Services, and we use trusted platforms to store it. A separate Privacy Policy with more detail may be posted on this site; until then, this Section 9 describes how we handle your information.
9.5 Using your story. We will never share your name, image, or story in marketing without your separate written permission. We may share general, fully anonymized themes (for example, "many of my clients struggle with people-pleasing").
10. Intellectual property
All content in the Services belongs to Lauren Davenport LLC or its licensors and is protected by copyright and trademark law. That includes videos, recordings, workbooks, worksheets, quizzes, frameworks, slides, emails, and the names "The Conscious College," "The Missing Class," "The Rewrite Session," and "Year of You."
When you buy a Service, you get a personal, non-transferable license to use its materials for your own growth. You may not share your login; resell, copy, distribute, or post the materials; record or screenshot sessions or course content; use the materials to coach, teach, or build a competing product; or upload the materials to any AI tool for training or reproduction. If you break this section, we may end your access without a refund and pursue any remedies available by law.
11. Results, quizzes, testimonials, and outside resources
11.1 No guaranteed results. Personal growth depends on many things outside our control, including your effort, circumstances, and health. We do not promise or guarantee any particular outcome, including emotional, academic, relationship, career, health, or financial results.
11.2 Testimonials. Testimonials reflect real experiences of individual clients. They are not typical or guaranteed results, and your experience may be different.
11.3 Quizzes. Quiz results are general and based only on your answers. They are a starting point for reflection, not a label, diagnosis, or prediction (see Section 3.3).
11.4 Outside resources. We may link to outside websites, books, or tools (for example, Psychology Today, Harvard Health, Gretchen Rubin's Four Tendencies, or Dr. Kristin Neff's self-compassion resources). We don't control them, aren't affiliated with them unless we say so, and aren't responsible for their content. Frameworks created by others belong to their creators and are used for educational reference.
12. Assumption of risk and release
You understand that coaching may bring up uncomfortable thoughts and feelings, and that you take part voluntarily and at your own risk. To the fullest extent allowed by law, you release Lauren Davenport LLC, Lauren Davenport, and their contractors from claims arising from your decisions or actions related to the Services, except for claims caused by our gross negligence or willful misconduct. In-person events and retreats may have additional waivers.
13. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
13.1 As is. The Services are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, to the fullest extent allowed by law.
13.2 Limit on damages. To the fullest extent allowed by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages. Our total liability for any claim related to the Services will not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.
13.3 Some rights can't be waived. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under New York law, or any right you have as a consumer that cannot be waived.
14. Indemnification
You agree to defend and hold harmless Lauren Davenport LLC and Lauren Davenport from claims, losses, and costs (including reasonable attorneys' fees) that arise from your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the Services or materials, or your violation of anyone else's rights.
15. Disputes and governing law
15.1 Talk to us first. If something goes wrong, email [email protected]. Both sides agree to try in good faith to resolve it informally within 30 days before taking any other step.
15.2 Governing law. These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
15.3 Where disputes are decided. Any dispute not resolved informally will be brought only in the state or federal courts located in Monroe County, New York, and both parties consent to that jurisdiction. Either party may bring a qualifying claim in small claims court.
15.4 Time limit. Any claim must be brought within one year after it arises, unless a longer period is required by law.
16. General terms
- Changes. We may update these Terms. The version in effect when you buy a Service applies to that purchase, unless you agree to a newer version. We'll post the "Last updated" date at the top.
- Entire agreement. These Terms and the Service description at checkout are the entire agreement between us about the Services.
- Severability. If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect.
- No waiver. If we don't enforce a term right away, we can still enforce it later.
- Assignment. You may not transfer your purchase or these Terms without our written permission. We may assign them to a successor business.
- Electronic agreement. Checking the box at checkout, or using the Services, is your electronic signature. It is as binding as a signed paper contract.
- Events beyond our control. We aren't responsible for delays caused by illness, emergencies, platform outages, or other events beyond our reasonable control. We'll reschedule affected sessions.
